I don’t know about you, but Halloween is a day of joy and celebration in our household. When you break down the word into two parts, Hallo-which means, a shout or a cry of joy and “ween,” to expect; what we were expecting showed up and resulted in us shouting for joy. We were not tricked but treated to an amazing miracle! On October 31st 1998, a 10 pound bouncing baby boy came into our lives. We received a treat not a trick! He was healthy, handsome and hairy! A beautiful gift from above.
On that day, we weren’t thinking of the devil, witches or wizards, we weren’t thinking of poisoned candy or malevolent lunatics, we weren’t thinking of ghosts, ghouls and gargoyles, we only had one thought; this is the day the Lord has made and we are glad and rejoice in it.
We all have a choice. We can choose to ascribe certain days to God and others to the devil. The truth however is this: the world, including all its days, people and things belong to God.
I do not ascribe or concede one day, especially Halloween, to the devil.
Therefore, today, please join me in celebrating all those born on this glorious day. If you can, also join me in celebrating our son, Chase,on his birthday. Thank You!
